The Taylor Swift Theory

Okay, let's try again... Hi! I'm Noah, this is my blog that "Noahbody Cares" about. You know what else nobody cares about. Your dreams. (what a smooth segway [at least it could've been if I hadn't pointed it out thus defeating its purpose {actually I might not have even needed a segway because it was like one sentence into my post (also, now you've forgotten what I was segwaying too and you're just making sure I get the order of these nested parentheses right [note: yes the period goes before the close parenthesis.])}]) It was dreams... I want to talk about dreams.

Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about my dreams much, because while that would be fun for me, it would be dull as heck for everyone who wasn't there. a.k.a. "everyone". No. I want to talk about the act of dreaming. And I want to make an argument that literally NOBODY has ever thought about: Taylor Swift is an avid lucid dreamer!

Now, you may be thinking "I don't care, why would anyone care about a random Pop artist's dreaming patterns?" but others among you might be thinking "What is an avid lucid dreamer? Tell me more about this interesting, necessary, dare I say world-changing theory."
(In case my definition didn't use the word
"dream" enough for you)
Well I'm freaking ecstatic that you asked! Lucid dreaming is figuring out you're in a dream without not immediately waking up. If you've ever had a dream where you tried to wake yourself up, where you woke up multiple times in the dream, or where you realized you were dreaming and just went along with it, then you've had at least 1 lucid dream.

"But what do you mean by "avid" lucid dreamer?" you certainly just asked before reading this line. Well, I'm sorry to tell you but I can't hear you, so please stop talking to your screen, people are staring. Fortunately, I'm perceptive enough to have anticipated your question anyway. Most people report having around 14 vivid or lucid dreams per year [citation needed. idk it's some number I didn't look it up and you won't either]. But not everyone can consistently figure out they are dreaming and influence their dream multiple times per month. That requires effort, intentionality, and no small amount of self-awareness. I am going to prove that TAYLOR SWIFT definitely does the latter.

(Okay bit of a side tangent, but I've gotten pretty good at lucid dreaming. When I've intentionally developed the habit while awake of checking my watch every time something weird happens. The habit naturally traveled into my dreams, where it's highly likely that the number on my watch will be some nonsense like "98:41" or the seconds won't count up in order. Once I realize I'm dreaming, I try to practice using super powers. I've been doing this since I was like 11 and now I can consistently fly, use telekinesis on small objects, and control people's behaviour [to a degree]. Honestly, it's pretty fun, and it's not a waste of time since I'm asleep.)

Side tangent aside, "Side to Side" is a garbage song. Besides, what was this blog post about again? Oh yeah. Taylor Swift is a lucid dreamer. I have proof I promise:

PART II - THE EVIDENCE
Okay, this might be a little unnecessary, but I scrubbed through all the lyrics of Taylor Swift's last two albums and found every reference to dreaming. Here are the results:

In her album 1989 she mentions dreams in 4 of the 13 songs. This is
Blank Space: Taylor calls herself "a nightmare dressed like a daydream"
Style: She says the guy has "got that James Dean daydream look in your eye" I promise it gets better.
Wildest Dreams: The most obvious one, saying that the guy should choose to see her in his dreams (also a clever play on the phrase "in your wildest dreams" which is generally a negative expression, but in this song is wholly sincere). The whole song is about a girl telling a guy to control his dreams and remember her.
This Love: verse one ends with "In silent screams and wildest dreamsI never dreamed of this" silently screaming happens a lot in lucid dreams in my experience. Especially if you're trying to scream to wake up. Again, maybe she's just being poetic and random and maybe it's a coincidence, OR MAYBE I'M ON TO SOMETHING!

Honestly, the song wildest dream should be enough to convince you that TS thinks a lot about dreams, but there's even more in her Reputation Album:

...Ready for it?:
"In the middle of the night, in my dreams
You should see the things we do, baby
In the middle of the night, in my dreams
I know I'm gonna be with you"
Literally describing the process of controlling dreams! How much more do you need!
King of My Heart: "Your love is a secret I'm hoping, dreaming, dying to keep" She uses the word dreaming as a synonym for hoping.
Call It What You Want: "My baby's fit like a daydream" fit in this context apparently means attractive. Also, this line doesn't add much but it's got the word dream in it. They
Delicate: "Sometimes I wonder when you sleepAre you ever dreaming of me?"
Look What You Just Made Me Do: Taylor describes herself as "the actress starring in your bad dreams"

Taylor Swift has deliberately changed her dialect, public image, and speaking patterns almost with each new album, and stayed relevant for longer than the vast majority of pop stars OR country stars without being the center of any major controversies or tainting her image as a harmless celebrity. If she is THAT intentional and talks about dreams in nearly a third of her songs, there isn't a thread of doubt that she is an avid lucid dreamer........... not sure what to do with that information.

But hey thats just a theory...... Whatever I'm tired I'm not going to proofread this if you see a typo you get a gold star.

Until next month or whenever,
The Noah
