Does God Google?

Hello to the nobody I’m writing this for,

I’m The Noah. The one and only. And THIS blog is my fun side-project I like to call Noahbody Cares! I’m going to be honest with you, Nobody, I’ve been having a bit of writers block lately. For some reason I really want my next post to live up to the high standards of this blog, but I'm afraid it won't…

Which is odd because if you’ve been here for even a few posts you know
There are no standards for
this blog.
Anyway,
I needed something I could write about quickly without too much thinking, so I turned to a higher power for guidance… Google (just kidding I prayed about it… then I started messing around with Google). I logged out of my Google account and typed in “Does God…” followed by random letters to see what kinds of things people were searching for about God. Maybe there’d be a good idea for something to write about in there.

Time to play “Does God Google!”

Does God sleep?”

Not according to Psalms 121:4. If God slept, he couldn’t take care of us day and night. At least half of the world is awake at all times, so God needs to be too.

The more interesting questions to me for are:

Does God speak to us (in dreams)/send signs?”

I have personal evidence in my life of God communicating with me in a tangible way. Whether it’s through other people, lessons, the Bible, music (Christian or secular), or yes even through dreams, I think God uses things we interact with in our normal lives to point us toward himself. I also believe His communication with us is streamlined and amplified when we are living within His will! Scientists claim that dreams are an indicator of the things your brain is still working through while you're asleep, and if you can dream I think you should work on remembering and reflecting on your dreams. I don’t want to over-spiritualize dreaming, but a lot of times when God spoke to people in the Bible, it was via dreams or visions, and if you believe he is actively trying to get something across to you, why wouldn’t he try to tell you while you’re dreaming if you can create that opportunity for him?

That being said (let me check over y shoulder for those Christians who attack other believers for "questioning" too much)...
I know it doesn't always feel like God is talking to us,
but we just have to keep pressing forward as though we are confident that He is,
because...
He is.

Alright, let’s try another letter

Does God ever give up on us?”

If God were to give up on me, he would've to given up on a lot of other people before me. Moses killed a man, David cheated and then had a man killed in the cover up, just about everyone alive during Jesus’ life turned their back on Him from Peter to James to the crowds that cried for his crucifixion. And yet, Jesus said “forgive them, they know not what they do” in the book of Luke 23:34 as he hung from a cross. He forgives multi-time adulterers and well-known scammers throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, and tells them to turn from their old ways and follow Him instead.
So, NO!
He won’t give up on you!

I love thinking about how many people have asked this next question:

Does God exist in Marvel?”

I can’t speak to the comics, but in the current cinematic story line that’s been going since 2008, Captain America seems to believe in God [stated explicitly in The Avengers (2012)]. The Norse Legends like Thor and Odin are set up like aliens more than "gods", so that leaves it open to any creation story. The Collector, who is centuries old and incredibly powerful and knowledgeable, claims in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) that "Before Creation itself, there were six singularities (/infinity stones/Purple guy's rock collection)" while showing a video of what looks like a dramatization of the Big Bang, so is he using poetic language or being literal? If He's being literal are the stones older than God? Are they older than space-time? How does that work?

I’d like to think God exists in Marvel, and he’ll always allow a way for his chosen people to come back to him (which would mean he is still present during Infinity War and He is going to work things out for His glory) … This is a silly question! Why are people asking this? Why am I taking the time to think about it?

Okay, that’s all for tonight. Don’t expect me to tie this all together with some sort of conclusion. I just needed a post.
Thanks for                                                                                             reading,
~
